Titanium vs. Carbon Bikes

Titanium tubing offers a magical combination of efficiency and compliance. Giving a resilient ride on rough surfaces that smooths out and absorbs road buzz and small bumps alike. Larger diameter tubing provides a brilliant balance of stiffness to efficiently transfer power to the rear wheel without undue flex, all without beating you up over the course of a long ride.

Carbon fibre frames are in general lighter and stiffer than Titanium. If your looking for maximum efficiency of power transfer from rider to road then you maybe better with a carbon frame. Carbon is always preferred by professional riders and enthusiastic amateurs alike, it's the fastest way to get from A to B on a bicycle. Our carbon frames use a mix of Modulus Toray T800/700 carbon fibre build to help smooth out the bumps, the frame is stiffer in the right places to transfer of power directly using Toray 700. While the Toray 800 used helps to soak up the vibration. Even using the latest tech to help offer the smoothest ride, carbon still can feel hard compared to Titanium.

As titanium has a fatigue limit, so as long as the tubing is not stressed beyond this limit or damaged, it will never fatigue. Titanium can also flex three times further than aluminium and twice as far as steel without permanent damage. Carbon fibre is vulnerable to crash and notch damage, after which it may fail. However, that second or two saved by using a carbon frame in a race could be the difference that gets you on the podium at the end. That could be at your local sportive or at the very highest level.
